Just a reminder that this is a great time of year to refresh some of the supplies that don't make it all year. Please talk with your child and see if it he or she could use some updating. The following should be checked:

thin tipped dry erase markers
gym shoes (many have outgrown now)
earbuds/headphones (many are broken or don't work)

February 1: Ice skating!

Next Week's Schedule:

Monday:  B Day
Tuesday: C Day
Wednesday:  D Day
Thursday: E Day
Friday: F Day

What we've been up to:

Reading: This week our reading groups are focusing on inferencing and making connections to text. Both of these skills are very important when it comes to the comprehension of a text. Also, as your child reads at night, encourage him/her to ask you about words that he/she does not understand or recognize. Increasing vocabulary builds strong readers. We've continued to study Trickster Tales.
Word Study: Next week we will begin -ck, -ct, -ft, -ld, -mp, and -nd words
Math: Unit 4 Test early next week
Science: Our unit is on force
Social Studies Finishing up Econ & Me
Writing: Informational Writing.  Ask your child what their planning to write about!

*As always, please continue to check out our classroom resources on itslearning. Students can go there often to practice skills and learn about content that we are covering in class.

All teachers welcome questions that you have. A true partnership between home and school is important for the success of each child.
